Benson Electric recently sponsored the Lake Superior Region Champion Esko SubZero Robotics Team to help sending their team to the World Championship.  The team is currently raising funds for their trip at https://www.gofundme.com/SubZeroRobotics2017

SubZero Robotics was founded in 2014 and has just completed their second year participating in a FIRST® Robotics competition and we are excited to see where our team will go.FIRST® is a global organization that helps promote Science, Technology, and Engineering. During a six-week time frame this group of 9th-12th graders come together to complete a task. With this, students use business, electric, programming, and fabrication skills to bring their robot to life. Art skills also come in to give their team a signature look.

FIRST® stands for: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. Coming out of participating in FIRST®, students are more willing to go into science, technology, engineering, and medical fields, also known as STEM. This is because students realize their full potential when participating in this thrilling sport. Along this line, FIRST® has reached over 251,000 students as well as over 60,000 mentors and it is continuing to grow every year.
