Continuing Education

Each of our Journeyman Wireman attend our certified five year apprenticeship program to prepare for their future in the trade and to take both the State of Minnesota and State of Wisconsin licensing tests. Their training does not end with graduation from the apprenticeship program… or by passing the state test. Their training continues both with their employer AND through continuing education classes offered through Local 242. State law requires that each JW attend at least 16 hours of certified continuing education classes every two years to keep their licensing up to date. These classes offer JW’s the opportunity to learn new and in-demand skills, as well as the ability to brush up on existing knowledge.
